Specialist Helicopters delivers advanced helicopter flight training, checking and examination for pilots who already hold a commercial licence. Training is led by David Adamson — one of very few instructors who is both a CASA Grade One Flight Instructor and a CASA Flight Examiner (Helicopter) — so you can train for a rating or endorsement and sit the CASA flight test with the same authority, under CASA Part 141.
Advanced training, ratings, endorsements and type & class ratings for licensed commercial pilots — including an Advanced Skills Review that tests your survivability in realistic simulated emergencies, flown to the ground.
Comprehensive flight-instructor training and testing for the Training Endorsements (TEs) that enable advanced instruction.
Trained & tested by a
film & stunt pilot
Thorough pre-employment flight reviews Australia-wide — an objective skills assessment (theory and flight) tailored to the role, with a comprehensive written report of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, risks and recommendations.
David Adamson is one of a handful of CASA-approved Flight Examiners and an advanced flight instructor — authorised to conduct flight tests for Commercial, Private, Night VFR, Instrument and Instructor ratings, and to deliver aircraft type endorsements and operational approvals including low-level, sling, winch, float and formation. Testing is conducted on behalf of CASA and several international regulators, and his commitment to lifting industry standards has led to regular engagement with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
All training and examining is led by David Adamson — a CASA Grade One Flight Instructor and CASA Flight Examiner (Helicopter) with more than 23,000 flight hours, 8,000+ of them at low level, and a nil-accident record across more than 40 countries.
Yes. Because David holds both Grade One Instructor and Flight Examiner authorities, we can deliver the training and conduct the CASA flight test in-house — for ratings, endorsements and instructor approvals.
